RLPL were appointed by Golf Australia Holdings to coordinate the rezoning of the site from farm land to a comprehensive development zone and in so doing securing more than 30 planning permit approvals during the development process. The approval process ended up being a Ministerial Advisory Committee, eventually securing approval for 2 golf courses, clubhouse, and maintenance facility, Australian Institute of Sport training centre, 250 residential lots and 200 hotel apartments. The application included extensive environmental, flora and fauna, cultural heritage issues, not to mention challenging servicing and engineering design requirements. The facilities needed to be completed for the running of the 2003 Australian Open and were delivered on program.
